Bracketology – 4 ACC Basketball Teams Break Through

Bracketology

The NCAA’s Andy Katz has four ACC men’s basketball teams projected to make it to March Madness in latest bracketology. It could be that he’s being a bit generous but then again it’s not even January. The conference head to head action gets underway tonight and is full-throttle beginning Tuesday, December 28 when Notre Dame visits Pitt. There’s one small thing that could put a hold on the play though. Once again, COVID and this time the Omicron variant is burning it’s way through the population with postponements and forfeits potentially becoming the norm.

Katz’ latest bracketology has the following teams as No. 1 seeds –

  • South – Baylor
  • West – Arizona
  • Midwest – Purdue
  • East – Duke

If the season can make it’s way through the latest surge of virus then Katz believes that Duke, North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest will find their way to March Madness. The Blue Devils are projected as the fourth pick as a No. 1 seed. Reflecting upon the struggles of conference men’s basketball the next pick is thirty spots behind Duke. North Carolina comes in at thirty four as a No. 9 seed. Right behind the Tar Heels, Virginia Tech at thirty five and the Hokies are a No. 9 seed as well. So far, Steve Forbes’ Wake Forest squad has polished up all the right parts in action this fall. The Demon Deacons are at forty and are a No. 10 seed.
