Bracketology week continues on ACC Nation with a look at the latest bracket from Jason Carmello at Big Underdog. Carmello provides observations on teams and players in his latest bracket. It’s all about the big picture and that starts way back in November. That statement may answer some of the questions you have regarding where a team is or isn’t in the bracket.

Before we go any further let’s find out about your NCAA men’s basketball tournament knowledge. The lowest seed to advance to the Final Four has been No. 11. There are five teams that have done so. We’ll give you the years, you name the teams –

  • 1986
  • 2006
  • 2011
  • 2018
  • 2021

Carmello looks at the No. 1 seeds and the gap in play between these teams and the next levels. When it comes to the ACC, what can teams do to improve their standing in the eyes of the selection committee? We take a look at North Carolina, Duke, Clemson, Virginia and Wake Forest. Find out who the other team from the conference was that suffered from erratic play dooming their chances to advance.

The first Top 16 from the selection committee is solid until we near the end of the list. Who are those teams and why are they suspect?
