ACC women’s lacrosse once again positions itself to dominate the conversation as the 2023 season gets underway. The top team in the nation, North Carolina, rolled to a decisive 14-9 victory over No. 12 James Madison for their first notch in the win column for the season.

Conference teams have gotten off to a good start thus far with just one loss overall that was close to a dominant opponent.

North Carolina holds their preseason first-place spot in the Top 25 and dominate the voting with 21 of 24 first-place votes. Boston College maintains their place at No. 3. Syracuse moves up a spot to No. 4. Duke and Virginia maintain their current ranking while Notre Dame is up two places. Louisville’s performance against Denver helped push them into the Top 25 from the Receiving Votes category.
