A new year brings another round of intensity to ACC wrestling. Only three of the six conference teams are ranked by NWCA at this point in the season, somewhat underwhelming compared to recent years past. Early January did not bode well for the three in the Top 25. Then No. 11 Virginia Tech fell to powerhouse No. 2 Missouri 22-17 and then No. 4 NC State stumbled out of the gate with a loss to then No. 9 Oklahoma State, 22-12. That dropped the Pack down to No. 8.
Basketball | Upset Nightmare A Top 5 Plus For ACC
As always, misery loves company so No. 13 Virginia Tech fell to No. 10 Cornell 24-13 and that was followed up with No. 15 Pitt taking a hard knock at the hands of No. 5 Oklahoma State, 31-6. Not an auspicious start for any of the conference leaders to say the least.
Wrestling
Out of the three new additions to the ACC in 2024 only one school will add to the ACC’s wrestling cache and that is Stanford who currently stands at No. 20 in the latest wrestling poll.
