Runner's High
ACC Nation Staff @accnation –

Once you get it, it’s hard to give it up. That runner’s high where the body is flush with endorphins. When competing, cross country athletes often reach down deep for a ‘second wind’. Finding that extra push for a home stretch kick is critical in competition. It doesn’t always come easy and in some situations it doesn’t come at all. For runner’s the training comes early almost every day. It can also be what puts a cap on it as well.

All the training is about to be put to a test as the college cross country season gets underway. How are things shaping up in the ACC this season? Overall, eight conference teams are ranked in the preseason Top 30. Four in both the men’s and women’s polls.

To get a better feel for how teams are expected to perform we’ll break out the regional rankings. We’ll also take a look at some of the athletes expected to lead regional leaders from the conference.
