Postseason Lockdown

This week’s Teams, Times, TV features two games with postseason lockdown potential. We’ll take a look at those two games a little closer to see what is on the line.

The first game of the day has Pitt travelling to Wake Forest. Panther fans (and quite possibly everyone in the ACC) are still scratching their heads over how this became a shot at the Coastal Division title. But, as always, the saying, ‘don’t look a gift horse in the mouth’ is most appropriate. What did the staff at ACC Nation think about this game in their weekly picks?

Speaking of, ‘who would have ever thought’ games, Syracuse takes on Notre Dame at Yankee Stadium on Saturday. The Orange are ranked #12 and Notre Dame #3 in the recent College Football Playoff Top 25. Irish fans want to see something that has been in short supply in South Bend and that’s a run at the national title. Syracuse fans are enjoying the ride, would like nothing more than to play spoiler and improve their postseason choices at the same time.

A win by the Orange would scramble some eggs among committee members as the top 4 would be a mess. There would be a solid argument for moving Syracuse up into a major bowl if they pull off a solid victory. Yes, good old college football, mayhem until the end of the season.
