The two powerhouse ACC volleyball programs clashed over the weekend to determine which team would sit atop the conference. No. 2 Louisville and No. 4 Pitt found themselves in a grind it out game taking five sets to determine. With an excited crowd on hand, national television coverage and conference bragging rights on the line both teams came out with an extra dose of adrenaline. Pitt took the first set. Louisville came back and took sets 2 and 3. Pitt finished off set 4. In the fifth and final set Louisville and Pitt battled to a 15-13 conclusion.

The top 5 teams in the AVCA Coaches’ Poll remain the same as last week. The game between Louisville and Pitt didn’t impact either teams rankings. It did, however add 3 first place votes to the column for Louisville at the expense of Texas.
