Florida State Digs Third CCSA Championship

The onslaught of a Spring rainstorm couldn’t keep Florida State’s Beach Volleyball team away from their third CCSA Championship. The Seminoles came out on top of their pool and then defeated FIU in the semifinal, 5-0.

All that was needed at this point in the tournament was a head to head with LSU. The Noles came through with a strong 3-0 finish against the Tigers in the final tilt.

Over the weekend the Seminoles gave up just one point for a 27-1 pairs record in their 6-0 performance.

Florida State’s Katie Horton and Hailey Luke joined teammates Macy Jerger and Sara Putt on the CCSA All Tournament Team.

The tournament MVP honors went to Horton and Luke.

The most recent AVCA Beach Volleyball Poll has Florida State ranked nationally at #7. A number of conferences will conclude their regular seasons this weekend with championship tournaments.

Next up for the Seminoles will be the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship selection announcement on Sunday, April 29 at 7:00p streamed on NCAA.com.

The 2018 tournament returns to Gulf Shores, Alabama on May 4-6 with action on ESPNU, ESPN2 and the championship on ESPN.
