Florida State Baseball Leads ACC

The preseason poll now reflects the reality of college baseball as teams settle into the regular season. In the ACC, Florida State leads the conference and have a top 5 slot in national rankings. The Seminoles hold tight to that position after rolling Xavier over the weekend.

The ACC started out in preseason polling with five teams and five conference teams continue to populate the field in week one of the regular season. It just isn’t the same five teams.

Duke lost their spot in the poll after losing two of three games to then #14 Vanderbilt. The Commodores get bumped up a spot following their wins over the Blue Devils.

Meanwhile, Clemson climbed on board the Top 25 following their sweep of William & Mary in a best of three series.

North Carolina is right behind Florida State in the numbers. The Tar Heels took two of three against South Florida.

Louisville rolled up three wins to ease up a spot this week while Virginia took two of three at the UCF Tournament suffering their sole loss to the host team.

Florida dominates the college baseball landscape again this year with a stable of pitchers that might make some MLB teams envious.
