If you’re ready for some football then the ACC is ready for you. The conference released their 2024 schedule Wednesday reflecting the addition of three new teams. Each team will play eight ‘in-house’ games. If you include Week Zero, teams will have as many as four open dates but if you exclude the season opener the majority, with the exception of Florida State, Georgia Tech and SMU will have two. The aforementioned will have three. Over the new seven-year schedule all 17 teams will play eight conference games yearly and each other at least two times.
ACC football will continue to take on a challenging non-conference schedule. There are a total of 26 games, 10 of whom were ranked in the final 2023 AP Top 25. Eleven teams from the SEC, five from the Big Ten, five against Notre Dame, four with the Big 12 and one against former PAC 12 team, Oregon State.
The kick-off to the season won’t be on the Labor Day Weekend this year but rather Week Zero in Dublin, Ireland where Florida State and Georgia Tech go head to head in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic.
Week One has the full slate of ACC teams seeing action. The holiday weekend action begins on Thursday, August 29 with three games and the highlight is North Carolina at Minnesota. On Friday, the highlight game features TCU at Stanford. On Saturday, the must see games are Clemson taking on Georgia in Atlanta and Miami at Florida.
