Who would have imagined two ACC teams battling it out for dominance in conference wrestling once again? Five teams are in this week’s NWCA Top 25 and the top two seem destined to create yet another year of excitement as they battle for the top spot. Last week NC State checked in at No. 7 while Virginia Tech held the No. 10 spot. One week later, well, things have changed.
Football | He Said Yes…Hokies Score Big With Franklin
The No. 7 Pack dropped matches with No. 5 Oklahoma State and then to No. 10 Virginia Tech. The Hokies lost to No. 9 Minnesota but then picked up wins over No. 24 Wyoming, No. 15 Illinois and iced the cake with a win over No. 7 NC State. This was enough to have the two teams playing leap-frog with the Hokies moving forward.
Wrestling
Pitt, North Carolina and Stanford all held onto their spots in the wrestling Top 25 with wins over un-ranked teams. Pitt took down Princeton, Navy washed out against North Carolina and Cal Baptist was an easy mark for Stanford. Let’s look at the top 5 and where ACC teams stand in the latest rankings.
