NC State kept Miami’s offense in check with the Canes shooting just 32% and only pulling up 3 for 19 from 3-point land. However, Kelsey Marshall still put up 24 on NC State. The shooting percentages weren’t stellar for the Wolfpack either at 35%. The key difference being an offensive run of 17-4 that helped open up the lead in the late portion of the third to 54-33.

The No. 7 seed Canes had rolled up three wins in three days including wins over Louisville and Notre Dame as they advanced to the championship game. If they had mustered a win in the title match they would have become the lowest seed to have ever won the tournament.

Charlie Creme’s updated bracket has Miami as a No. 10 seed while NC State has locked in one of four No. 1 seeds in the tournament.

The NCAA Selection Show will fill in the official bracket seeds on Sunday, March 13 at 8:00pm ET on ESPN.
