There’s certainly a lot of sports action in the ACC Nation Weekend Preview. This weekend features the conference Tennis Championships and Women’s Golf Championship. Outside of the conference is the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Semi-Finals. In addition to this action there’s baseball, softball, lacrosse and rowing. Let’s take a look.
The 15 Atlantic Coast Conference women’s golf teams will tee off at the 2026 ACC Women’s Golf Championship today with play continuing through the match-play final on Sunday, April 19 in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Weekend Preview
ACC Baseball swings back into conference action with three-game series slated. Clemson and No. 9 Virginia get underway in Charlottesville this evening and available on the ACC Network. An exciting match-up between No. 2 Georgia Tech and No. 3 North Carolina headlines conference action. They’ll start their series on Friday. The first game will get underway at 6:00pm ET on ACCNX. Saturday’s game is at noon on the ACC Network and Sunday’s at 1:00pm ET and also on the ACC Network.
The remaining match-up in the weekend preview features Duke meeting No. 24 Boston College. Also on the schedule – Pitt and Virginia Tech, Notre Dame and Florida State, NC State and Wake Forest, Miami and Stanford and Louisville takes on Cal.
D1Baseball is projecting 8 ACC teams in the Field of 64. Among their First Four Out is Clemson. There are 4 No. 1 seeds in Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Virginia and Florida State. Wake Forest and Miami are No. 2 seeds and NC State is a No. 3 seed.
Weekend Preview – Tennis
Men’s and Women’s ACC Tennis Championship action is underway in Cary, North Carolina. A majority of the field for the quarterfinals for the men is set. Wake Forest will take on Duke, Stanford and Florida State are matched up, Virginia and Cal have answered the call and Notre Dame will be meeting either Clemson or North Carolina, a match that was underway. The Semi’s will be played on Saturday and the Championship on Sunday, April 19.
Action was still underway to determine the final slate of women’s teams in the Quarterfinals. Virginia, Duke, North Carolina and NC State are set. The winner of the Stanford/SMU match will face the Cavaliers, the Wake Forest/Miami match will take on the Blue Devils, the Notre Dame/ Clemson match move on to the quarters against the Tar Heels and the Florida State/Cal match face off with the Wolfpack. The Semifinals are on Saturday and the Championship is on Sunday.

Weekend Preview – Softball
The Hokies and Noles are battling it out for the top ranked spot for ACC softball teams. D1 Softball gives a nod to Virginia Tech in that struggle as they come in at No. 10 and Florida State at No. 11. Duke is No. 15, Stanford No. 22 and Virginia rounds out the ACC’s Top 25 teams at No. 23.
Weekend action features Georgia Tech at Virginia Tech, North Carolina at Florida State, Duke at Boston College, NC State at Stanford, and Virginia at Clemson among the ranked teams. Also on the schedule is Notre Dame at Syracuse, and Pitt at Louisville. Cal sees the lone out of conference action with former PAC12 roomie UCLA, ranked No. 9 entertaining the Golden Bears.
Weekend Preview – Lacrosse
The Weekend Preview sees ACC Women’s Lacrosse wrapping up the regular season with action throughout today before finding out what the seeding will be for the championship in Charlotte, April 22-26. The latest IWLCA Top 25 has North Carolina at No. 1, Syracuse at No. 4, Clemson at No. 9, Stanford at No. 10, Boston College comes in at No. 13, Notre Dame at No. 15, Duke No. 20 and Virginia at No. 21.
The men still have some action in front of them. No. 1 Notre Dame will take on No. 16 Duke on Saturday with the game televised on ESPNU at 12:00pm ET. No. 3 North Carolina and No. 11 Virginia battle it out on Saturday, also at noon with the action on ACCNX. Rounding out this weekend’s action Colgate travels to Syracuse to take on the No. 5 Orange with the game at 5:00pm ET on ACC Network.
Weekend Preview – Gymnastics
The NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships are in the midst of the Semifinals on Thursday. Stanford is one of 8 teams vying for a shot at the national title. There are two Individual Event Qualifiers from the ACC. Gwen Fink with North Carolina is among 4 competing for a Vault title and Brie Clark of Clemson is among 4 looking for a title in Floor competition.
Weekend Preview – Rowing
The latest CRCA Rowing Top 25 has Stanford holding the No. 1 spot with Virginia at No. 8, Cal No. 9, Syracuse No. 10, Duke comes in at No. 14 followed by Miami at No. 15 and North Carolina is No. 21.
A number of teams are competing at the Orlando Invite hosted by UCF. Louisville is at the SIRA Championship in Tennessee, Virginia at the Eisberg Cup in Princeton, Notre Dame and Stanford will be competing at the Big Ten Invitational, Boston College heads to the Irving-Christensen Cup/MIT Cup in Worcester and Syracuse is competing at the New York State Championships in Saratoga Springs.
Weekend Preview – Outdoor Track & Field
There’s just one ACC team on the men’s side in the latest USTFCCCA Top 25 and that’s Florida State at No. 25. The women’s rankings carry far more ACC teams. At No. 11 is Stanford, No. 15 Louisville, No. 16 Duke, No. 22 Florida State and Miami completes the conference presence at No. 23.
