Spring sports action across the ACC has been off the charts. A glance at teams in the top 5 in more than a handful of rankings is but one of many ways to gauge the success of conference teams this season. Fans of baseball have been getting their cake and seconds to boot. The top tier of college baseball has been residence to more than one team from the ACC with the most recent occupant being Virginia Tech.
The Hokies move into the top 5 following a home series 2 out of 3 win over then No. 7 Louisville. It started out with the Cardinals rolling to an 8-1 win but the Hokies dug down and brought home the bacon on games two and three, 4-3 and 6-4.

Weekend series action –
- Notre Dame taking 2 of 3 with Pitt – 8-3, 8-1 and 2-5
- Virginia Tech taking 2 of 3 with Louisville – 1-8, 4-3 and 6-4
- Virginia taking 2 of 3 with Clemson – 11-6, 2-8 and 6-3
Saturday concludes the regular season in the conference and things are far from settled when it comes to the Atlantic and Coastal Divisions. In the Atlantic Notre Dame currently has the lead going into the final weekend followed by Louisville and Florida State. Virginia and Louisville will mix it up in a cross-divisional series that can have a big impact on their seeding in the upcoming ACC Baseball Tournament in Charlotte.

The two top dogs, Notre Dame and Miami also go head-to-head in an Atlantic vs. Coastal battle. This particular matchup could be a major disruptor when those final seedings are decided.
