The season’s final USA Today/NFCA coaches’ softball top 25 is the cherry on top for Virginia Tech. The Hokies swept Boston College in their weekend series, 3-0, 9-0 and 8-4 with the Saturday game locking up the ACC regular season title. Florida State joins Tech in the top tier of college softball teams and move up one place in the poll following a two-game sweep on Thursday and Friday of then No. 6 Oklahoma State, 2-1 and 2-1.
The rankings include three additional conference teams including Duke, Clemson and Notre Dame. The Tigers swept their three game weekend series with Georgia Tech, 4-1, 3-0 and 3-2. The Blue Devils and Irish were off but pick up action this, the final week of regular season play.
