Pitt ’22 | Should Panthers Command More Respect?

Pitt

How easily we forget. The adage, out of sight, out of mind certainly applies to Pitt when it comes to media outside of Pittsburgh. There were lots of reasons why the team had success last year but when you project how they’ll do in a new season you may want to take a look at what they do have not just what they lost. Corey Crisan, Pitt beat writer for DKPittsburghSports joins us on ACC Nation and helps paint a clearer picture regarding Pat Narduzzi’s latest crew.

You may be surprised when you hear about how loaded (we’re not talking re-loaded here either) this team is on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Crisan explains to our Will Ojanen that the offense may be missing several top players from last year but that doesn’t mean they’ve gone backwards.

The same is true when it comes to their defense. You can expect a far more energetic and power based approach on both sides as Pitt seeks another Division title and an ACC Championship.

Crisan shares his thoughts of how the team will do against opponents on this year’s schedule which starts with the Backyard Brawl against West Virginia on Thursday, September 1. There’s plenty of games from start to finish that will present a challenge but another interesting matchup has the Panthers travelling to take on Miami to wrap the season on November 26.
