Florida State ’22 | Ready To Seize The Magic?

Florida State

When you’ve been to the top of the mountain it’s hard to consider having to start at the bottom all over again. Florida State has been to the summit and they’ve also been struggling to put together the goods that will help them ascend once again. Special guest, Curt Weiler of The Osceola on the Rivals Network joins us as to discuss the in’s and out’s of the team.

There’s good news but then again there’s far more potential on the horizon then there has been for the past several years. Mike Norvell enters his third year at the helm and there’s been plenty of pundits placing him on a ‘warm’ seat but is that an accurate portrayal of where both he and the team stand?

Weiler provides some glimpses into why Noles fans are finally having something to be positive about. It may be an endlessly slow process for fans but is it realistic to expect a complete turn-around in three years with all things considered? That’s more of a question for AD Michael Alford.

Will gets into the breakdown of the Florida State offense with a look at QB Jordan Travis, who will protect him on the offensive line and what types of weapons at running back and wide receiver are at his disposal. Jim looks at the special teams play and Weiler points to experience among the kickers but some question as to who will return kicks.

On defense things are looking much more ‘together’ than they have in the past. With some experience on the line, at linebacker and among defensive backs this iteration of the Noles should be far more competitive than last year.

Florida State opens the season in Week Zero (Saturday, August 27) against Duquesne and then on September 4 travel to New Orleans to face LSU. Will and Jim discuss the schedule with Weiler and get his thoughts on wins/losses.
