The first few weeks in college football lays the groundwork for rankings. Now, with a few slips, stumbles, fumbles and big-time ‘eff ups’ there’s certainly a much clearer view of where teams stand. Injuries have already played a big role in performances especially with the loss of key players. Cross your fingers that there are no more for the rest of the season.
If you take a moment to listen to the latest ACC Nation podcast with special guest Kelly Quinlan you’ll hear some straight forward and perhaps, hard to swallow truth about players and teams in the conference. There’s seven more weeks and it’s time for each team within the conference to begin jockeying for their best finish and for a select few that starts with an ACC Championship Game in Charlotte. With the right outcomes and maybe a bit of luck three teams out of the conference might grab a spot in the CFP. There are paths but they’ll be difficult to traverse.
Rankings
Though teams might not get a shot at Charlotte or the CFP it’s critical to keep cranking out competitive games. As a player you will want as many eyes on you as possible to increase the value of your stock if you want a shot at the NFL. For teams, the better performances increase the eyes on factor and the better the bowl the better the financial reward for programs.
