College Soccer | ACC Dominates Week 6 Rankings

ACC men's and women's college soccer rankings for week 6.

The preseason picks by ACC coaches as to who would dominate the college soccer scene in the ACC isn’t playing out as anticipated. The men’s soccer coaches selected Clemson, Notre Dame, North Carolina, Wake Forest and Stanford as their top 5 teams. When it came time for the women’s soccer coaches to vote on the teams they envisioned at the top of the conference they went with Florida State, Stanford, Notre Dame, North Carolina and Clemson.

It may well end up that way yet however at this point in the season Pitt, Stanford, North Carolina, Duke and Clemson are leading the ACC rankings for the men while North Carolina, Cal, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech and SMU are the top 5 women’s teams.

College Wrestling ’24 | Stanford Helps Grow The Sport

It’s been a wild ride in college soccer thus far especially among ACC teams. With the addition of Stanford, SMU and Cal things look a bit different in conference matchups this season. Keep in mind, if Stanford had been a part of the ACC last year both the men’s and women’s championship games would have pitted all conference teams against one another.
