The 2026 ACC Volleyball Preseason Composite Power Rankings brings Stanford, Pitt and Louisville back to the main stage of the conference. In 2025 the Cardinal and Panthers split the ACC title and come into this year with a difference of 3 poll points indicating yet another battle for the top position. Louisville is a solid third as they return the most All-ACC talent across the conference.
There are two ‘disagreements’ with the coaches in the composite power rankings. Florida State climbs from 8th to 6th. The Seminoles feature a Player-of-the-Year watch star in Kyleene Filimaua and she’s just one of many reasons that the composite believes the coaches incorrectly buried the Noles at 8.

Georgia Tech meanwhile slips from 6 to 8. The composite believes the Jackets got a reputation vote at 6. Unfortunately, they return zero preseason All-ACC players and have no national profile plus there’s nothing under the hood to justify the spot. That’s what we see as a red flag indicated the team is “overrated by by the poll”.
Preseason Rankings – ACC Volleyball
Remember, this is a preseason composite and our system is best suited to looking at data two weeks into regular play. With the RPI and Pablo in play our system can further distinguish rankings based upon performance. Also at that point we’ll be able to include all of the teams from the conference but for right now we’re sticking with 10.
The NCAA’s Michella Chester has selected her preseason Top 10 teams and it has Stanford at 4, Pitt at 6, Louisville at 8 and SMU at 9.
