NC State wrestling added another notch in their belt moving up from No. 3 to 2 in the latest NWCA Top 25. Otherwise, it was a mixed bag of results across the conference. Former No. 5 Virginia Tech tell to then No. 8 Ohio State 24-12 and the two teams swapped places in this week’s rankings.
Previously unranked North Carolina added a win over the Sun Devils, 22-16 to lift the Tar Heels back into the Top 25 where they had been in preseason rankings.
Navy took down then No. 16 Pitt, 21-16 and the Panthers fell 7 spots in this week’s numbers. Duke lost to West Virginia just one win of many that lifted the Mountaineers into the Top 25.
