Week Six: ACC Nation Pigskin Picks

Week Seven
ACC Nation Staff @accnation –

Week five of ACC football was more fun than a barrel full of monkeys. (Editor’s note: It never fails to amaze me how a term that originated in 1895 can be so completely relevant in 2019). Three out of five games on the schedule in week six should provide plenty of entertainment as well. The real show is beginning to develop among the staff. Chris has now taken over in the battle for ultimate supremacy of the board. There’s nothing quite like having a target on one’s back.

Where did the rest of the crew go wrong? Will picked Virginia Tech over Duke (read his thoughts on the Hokies here). Xayveon, Jim and Chris all went Blue.

When it comes to errant picks Xayveon and Jim selected ‘un-wisely’ in a number of instances. Xayveon went with Boston College over Wake Forest while Jim went with Virginia pulling the upset over Notre Dame.

Both went out on a limb for Hot ‘lanta’s Yellow Jackets and got stung. Xayveon also went with the Wolfpack nailing down a win against a wishy-washy Florida State.

Let’s see how everyone does in week six which has a limited number of games to choose from.

What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

Our apologies (possibly) to a sub-Reddit site with a similar name. What selections are bumping off the guard-rails in week six of the ACC Nation Pigskin Picks?

We’ll start with Will going whole hog for Louisville over Boston College. Faith is a great thing but this may have stretched the limits just a hair. Yes, we’re keenly aware of the improvements Scott Satterfield has brought to the field but even we have our limits.

The safe bet is on Miami but Jim thinks a bounce back is in store for Virginia Tech. If the Hokies don’t deliver Justin Fuente is on a short list to have a moving van pull up out front of his house. After a painful week five we think Jim is first in line to help him box everything up.

Would anybody in this group place their faith in Georgia Tech after last week? No. End of story.

Our next match-up should be a barn burner of a game. Duke and Pitt are both question marks on multiple fronts but they’ve also shown a lot of gumption in big games.

Only one person is going with Pitt and that honor goes, once again, to Jim. He thinks that the Panthers have played (overall) a more well-rounded game than Duke. We’ll see if the minority prevails.

Rising To The Top: ACC Nation Power Poll

Does anyone really need to hear about how badly Bowling Green (could) get a solid lickin’ in their game with Notre Dame? Do they even use words like ‘lickin’ in South Bend?
