USTFCCCA Top 25
The top teams in ACC men’s and women’s outdoor track and field get dinged up a bit in this week’s USTFCCCA Top 25.
On the men’s side, Virginia continues to dominate the conference. The Cavaliers slipped two places in this week’s poll following a poor performance versus #125 ranked Penn.
The Cavaliers will continue their home stretch this weekend hosting the Virginia Challenge.
The Virginia Tech men slip three spots this week in the poll following their performance at Tennessee.
And, Syracuse drops two positions in the top 25 rankings. Despite that, the Orange can hang their hat on the outstanding performance of Freddie Crittenden, III.
Crittenden turned in the world’s third-fastest time in the 110-meter hurdles at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational.
His personal and a school record time of 13.42 seconds broke Jarret Eaton’s previous record set in 2012.
On the women’s side, Florida State leads the conference and remains a few steps ahead of both the Hokies and Hurricane in the poll. The team drops three places and out of the top 10.
The Seminoles participated in the Tennessee Relays and UNF Twilight.
Virginia Tech holds steady in this week’s polling after a solid showing at the Tennessee Relays.
Miami drops three notches following the Hurricane Alumni Invitational but remain in the top 20.
It’s a busy weekend in front of ACC teams with the schedule loaded with outdoor track and field events across the country. The remaining weeks of competition will allow individuals and teams an opportunity to tune up for postseason.
Speaking of, the 2017 ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held in Atlanta at Georgia Tech, May 12-14, just a few weeks away.
