United Soccer Women’s Top 25
Week six of the United Soccer Women’s Top 25 was topsy turvy for ACC teams with a mixture of good and bad news. Holding steady within the top 5 and leading conference teams in the poll are the Blue Devils who hold a 10-1 overall record.
North Carolina takes a 3 position leap into the top 5 of the poll. The Tar Heels, at the time ranked #8, come off a 2-1 win over Virginia, who was ranked #11 last week.
The Cavaliers drop 4 notches and remain in the top 15 programs in the nation.
Wake Forest and Florida State move in opposite directions in the rankings. The Demon Deacons drop two while the Seminoles climb two in the poll.
Notre Dame moves out of the RV category into this week’s Top 25. Though the Irish earlier fell to Duke, 3-0, they roared back with a solid 4-0 showing over then ranked #24 NC State.
Clemson and NC State claim spots in the RV category in this week’s United Soccer Women’s Top 25.

United Soccer Women’s Top 25 – Players Of The Week
The ACC Offensive Player of the Week honors go to North Carolina‘s Dorian Bailey and teammate Taylor Otto has been named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Bailey was instrumental in the Tar Heel’s wins over Clemson and Virginia as she scored two goals and tagged on an assist. Her performance was key against the Cavaliers with an assist that provided the tying goal and then netting the game winner.
The defensive effort by Otto held the Tigers to eight shots with two on goal and a scoreless outcome. Otto and her teammates only allowed four shots on goal in their 2-1 win over the Cavaliers.
