The latest NFCA college softball Top 25 flip flops Virginia Tech and Florida State among the top 5 following a series win by the Hokies over the Noles. Winning two of three in the weekend matchups, 6-3 and 23-9, pushed Tech into the No. 2 position in this week’s rankings. Florida State recuperated in the third game with an 8-6 win. The Seminoles swapped positions in the poll and fell to No. 4.
Looking back at the ’21 and ’20 final NFCA polls shows how dominate Florida State has been in softball over the past few years. However, lingering in the background has been a rising Hokies program looking for their opportunity to strike. Following these statement wins means that it’s ‘game on’ as the battle between the two teams for supremacy in the ACC heats up.
