Rowing Has Captivating Finish | UVA Enjoys 12th Title

Rowing

Though Virginia has been the dominant force among ACC teams competing in rowing it’s not a cakewalk. Even though the Cavaliers won four of five Grand Finals on their way to winning the 12th consecutive title, Syracuse and Duke were pushing hard to claim the championship. It all came down to the Varsity Eight where a first-place finish would net 36 points. It was all Virginia who finished with a total of 98 points.

The fifteen-point difference in the end was all the Cavaliers needed to lock in their 21st title out of 22 years. Syracuse came in second and just nudged out Duke with 83 points to the Blue Devils’ 82. Clemson, the host team came in fourth and Miami finished in fifth position.
