Rankings | 17 To 1, ACC Football Rises To The Challenge

With college football it usually takes a minimum of three weeks to clear enough dust off to provide reasonable Top 25 rankings. Here we are at week 6 and teams are still bulldozing their way through schedules and keeping everyone guessing. Even when you break down just 17 teams not everyone is going to agree on where they should rank.

Who should be in the top tier? Well, we all know who we thought should be but thinking it doesn’t make it true. How about those teams that we just absolutely knew with certainty would be hanging out in the standings cellar this year? Hmmmm, wonder how that did or didn’t work out.

It’s tempting to say welcome to ACC football where it’s anyone’s game but the mixture of Transfer Portal players and NIL money have more than evened things out across college football. Just compare a week 1 Top 25 to the most recent polls and look at the incredibly wild changes on the Heisman Watch covering the same period of time.

Will and Jim have the pleasure of talking with professionals that cover teams across the conference. It affords them a broader degree of insight (big picture) and understanding of what may or may not be happening. But, even with that experience they’ve found themselves shaking their heads over this season.

Nonetheless, it’s time to look at the ACC Nation Power Rankings and unlike in years past where we had multiple voters we’re putting Will and Jim on the line head-to-head.
