Pitt Gymnastics Leads EAGL

With a program record performance on bars Pitt Gymnastics outpaced EAGL opponent New Hampshire this weekend. The 49.275 scored on bars surpassed the 1999 mark of 49.200. A score of 49.125 on beam tied a program best set in 2004.

Three gymnasts helped lead the Panthers in setting the new record. Freshman Haley Brechwald, Senior Catie Conrad and Junior Lucy Brett all tied on bars. Brechwald won floor and all-around title.

The final team score of 196.225, the third highest in program history, vaulted the Panthers into the lead of the East Atlantic Gymnastics League.

A four way competition among EAGL teams is beginning to emerge with the release of week three’s NCAA rankings.
