Omaha ’23 Bound | Wake Forest, Virginia Fierce

Omaha

The ACC injected 8 teams into the bloodstream of the NCAA Baseball Regionals and now two have found their way to Omaha. No. 1 seed Wake Forest polished off No. 16 seed Alabama in two games with a 22-5 shellacking of the Crimson Tide in game two. The Deacs found their footing after a challenging 5-4 opening win in the series and apparently it was enough to ignite the fire the team has shown all season.

No. 7 seed Virginia faced off with conference foe Duke. The Blue Devils had other ideas about being sent to bed without their supper and took the first game 5-4. Wahoos fans, packing the stadium for each of the three games helped fuel the fire as Virginia decidedly locked in their College World Series bracket spot with 14-4 and 12-2 wins behind both spectacular pitching and batting efforts by the seasoned crew.
