ACC men’s golf started off in the NCAA Tournament in a very strong position with 12 teams and 1 individual getting the nod from the selection committee. Stanford, Wake Forest, North Carolina, NC State, SMU, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Duke, Cal, Florida State, Louisville and Notre Dame along with Andrew Swanson from Clemson spread out across the country in a bid to make the final cut. Now, it’s down to five teams and two individuals having a shot at NCAA titles in Carlsbad, CA.
ACC Basketball | Tweaks To 18 In-Conference Games
- Florida State – Won the Tallahassee Regional (host) with a 29-under 835, led by Luke Clanton who won individual medalist honors with a course-record 15-under 201
- Virginia – Finished 2nd at the Reno Regional at 11-under 853, with Paul Chang winning the individual title at 10-under 206
- California – Secured the 5th spot at the Reno Regional at 9-over 873
- Wake Forest – Finished 4th at the Amherst Regional at 1-under 839
- Georgia Tech – Took the 5th spot at the Auburn Regional, led by defending NCAA individual champion Hiroshi Tai
- Jacob Modelski (Notre Dame) – 4th place individual at Tallahassee Regional
- Bryan Kim (Duke) – 3rd place individual at Reno Regional
Golf – ACC Teams
It’s been a while since an ACC team won the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship. New conference addition Stanford was the latest with a title in 2019. Florida State was in the championship tilt in 2024 and lost to Auburn, 3-2. Other championship titles belong to Stanford in 2007, Cal in 2004 and Clemson in 2003. Team competing in the final match have been Georgia Tech in 2023, Stanford 2008, Georgia Tech 2005 and 2002, Clemson in 2001 and once again, Georgia Tech in 2000.

The men’s golf championship follows the women at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, May 23-28. The format for championship play is 54 holes of stroke play, then the top 15 teams plus top 9 individuals advance to 72 holes. Finally, the top 8 teams advance to match play.
