NCAA Field Hockey Semifinals
One in and one out for ACC teams as North Carolina heads to the NCAA Field Hockey Semifinals.
The quarterfinals found #2 seed Duke falling to Maryland, 3-2. Meanwhile, #4 seed North Carolina knocked off Princeton.
Princeton kept the Tar Heels in check making them earn the win. The Tigers went into the half feeling good about a 1-1 tie. North Carolina ultimately came out with the win over Princeton, 3-2 in order to move on to the semifinals.
North Carolina coach Karen Shelton said, “They kept it close – every time we punched, they counter punched. They made us earn every ball we handled. It was a fantastic game and I just couldn’t be happier that we’re going back to Louisville.”

It’s the ninth consecutive journey to the Final Four and the 22nd overall for North Carolina.
Top seed UConn took out Penn State, 4-3 and #3 seed Michigan shut out Northwestern, 3-0.
The NCAA Field Hockey Championship Semifinal action moves to Trager Stadium in Louisville. North Carolina will face off with UConn on Friday at 2:00p. Maryland faces Michigan later in the afternoon at 4:45p E.
