Friday, college tennis hits the road for the ITA Kick Off Weekend. The event features 60 teams, 10 from both the men’s and women’s side in the ACC, spread across 24 different facilities. The Kick Off features 15 regionals (women’s and men’s) with four teams per region. The winners of the single elimination event advance to the ITA Division I National Team Indoor Championships next month.

Last year saw four ACC teams advance to the final event. Wake Forest men’s team won both the ITA and NCAA Championships. The North Carolina women’s team claimed the 2018 ITA National Women’s Indoor Championship.

There will be a mixture of indoor and outdoor courts with a number of dual gender host sites. Three ACC men’s and women’s teams will have ‘home court advantage’ as the top seed in the event.

The opening round features the No. 1 seed against the No. 4 seed and the No. 2 seed faces the No. 3 seed. The following day features a championship match and a consolation.

This year’s hosts for the National Team Indoor Championships are Washington (women) and Illinois (men).
