ACC football has entered the back half of the regular season and the countdown to the conference championship and bowl eligibility has begun. Apparently there are still some surprises available in the weekly grab bag both from teams and individuals.

The shorter schedule, seven teams were on bye weeks, still presented some fun ball. The wow-factor kicked in with Pitt and their true freshman QB Mason Heintschel who battled it out with Florida State in Tallahassee. Both the Panthers and Seminoles pounded it out on both sides of the ball where only a handful of miscues helped turn the overall tide in favor of Pitt.

The world of Wake Forest football under head coach Jake Dickert is slowly turning the corner and the long-term plan is kicking in just in time to possibly deliver a bowl bid. The Demon Deacons started this journey weeks ago and it came to fruition with a solid win against Oregon State.

College football found itself in the midst of the final stages of coaches on hot seats as a number of head coaches and assistants were released. Are more to come? Yes. And just wait until the end of the season.

Will and Jim review all the games and then take a look at what’s on the horizon in Week 8. There are some serious matchups that could further upset the ACC apple cart once again. Who do they think will win?
