Field Hockey | Using Finesse For The ’26 Post-Season

Field Hockey

In 2025 five ACC field hockey teams were invited to the NCAA Championship. North Carolina pulled a No. 1 seed in the bracket after winning the ACC, something they’ve done from 2017 through 2025. Virginia and Wake Forest broke up the string in 2016 for the Wahoos and 2014 for the Deacs with the Heels plugging in 2015 to their run as well.

The ACC hasn’t been as dominate nationally in 2026 but there’s a solid contingent of teams in the conference as both the ACC Nation Power Rankings, national rankings and RPI illustrate. North Carolina, Virginia, Duke, Wake Forest and Syracuse received bids last year, is it possible that more than five teams from the ACC will get a nod or will it be less? The top 3 are almost a sure thing but teams from 4-7 in the ACC Field Hockey Power Rankings can’t bank on a bid.
