How does ACC college wrestling stack up for the ’24-25 season? There’s a new team in the mix in this year with the addition of Stanford. The Cardinal help plump up the InterMat Preseason Rankings with even more wrestlers from the ACC. A few teams have released their schedules however the conference hasn’t. College wrestling action begins in early November.
NC State is the power to deal with as the Wolfpack have won six straight ACC titles. Last year, the conference sent 36 wrestlers to the NCAA Championships with a No. 1 seed in the Virginia Tech’s Mekhi Lewis plus there was 1 No. 2 seed, 2 No. 3 seeds and 2 No. 4 seeds. Virginia Tech’s Caleb Henson grabbed his first NCAA Championship title and the second for the Hokies.
College Basketball | SEC/ACC 2024 Challenge
The Pack’s Trent Hidlay along with Henson advanced to the Championship finals in college wrestling. Hidlay, a four-time NCAA All American continues to workout at Wolfpack RTC in Raleigh as he pursues his goals of a World and Olympic championship. Henson, the ’23 ACC Freshman of the Year, ACC and NCAA Champion and an NCAA All American returns for his sophomore year with the Hokies and is the sole preseason ACC wrestler at No. 1 in his weight class.
