In the blink of an eye we’re headed into week 3 and it’s time to get serious about the college football Top 25. As our original article stated, teams sort themselves out in the polls by week 3 or 4. It’s clear there were some early pretenders. They’ll all have an opportunity to sort it out and redeem themselves as the season progresses. For now, the teams that are earning their accolades with solid wins are moving up while those that are struggling to find their mark are being left behind.
The biggest surge among the college football Top 25 by an ACC team is by Miami. Is ‘The U’ back? There are more than a few challenges left on their schedule to prove that they are worthy of the nation recognition in the rankings. The unranked Canes laid some wood on No. 23 Texas A&M and climbed 9 spots in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll. Duke is the next highest achiever moving up 4 spots and Florida State, the top team in the conference is now in the top 3 of the polls moving up 2 places.
