AVCA Volleyball Coaches Poll

Turmoil is the key word when talking about collegiate volleyball. No less than 7 teams are receiving first place votes from the coaches with all kinds of upheaval in the top tier of the poll.

At the top this week is Minnesota with 35 first place votes making them the clear favorite among coaches polled. The mayhem begins soon after.

Wisconsin makes a strong move up in the poll and grabs 6 votes. BYU slides in behind Wisconsin and picks up 7 votes. Stanford is next and gathers 8 votes. Penn State rounds out the top 5 with 4 votes. But there’s more. Nebraska gathers up 3 votes and USC has 1. Both teams are in the top 10.

The newest AVCA Volleyball Top 25 does have good news for the front runner in the ACC who continues to rise. Pitt is among the top 15 teams in the country and not far from cracking the top 10. Perhaps the Panthers can escape the madness on their journey up the rankings.
