Attack: ACC Wrestling Scores

ACC wrestling is on the attack and scoring where and when it counts. The newest NWCA rankings place 5 conference teams in the Top 25. Individual rankings from InterMat Wrestling, broken down by weight class, provides an idea as to where those points are being generated. Twenty four ACC wrestlers are ranked among the Top 20 of their respective weight classes.

A quick look at ACC action and how that translates into this week’s NWCA Top 25.

NC State remains steady at No. 8 following a win over Drexel. Virginia Tech and Pitt moved up a spot in the rankings this week. The Panthers came off a loss to No. 3 Oklahoma State but it was their first loss of the season. North Carolina holds steady in the poll while Virginia returned to the Top 25 after a two year absence debuting at No. 25.

Ultimately, the collegiate wrestling world is chasing Penn State who holds down the No. 1 spot. The Nittany Lions have been in that position since the beginning of this season’s rankings in October.
