The first coaches’ ranking for the 2025 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships is out and ACC wrestlers are making a solid showing. The rankings are voted on by 16 coaches in each weight class along with two head coaches from eight conferences. The latest NWCA team rankings features five conference programs with one more in the Receiving Votes (RV) category.

The coaches’ ranking is just one of several used by the Div. I Wrestling Committee during the selection and seeding process. There’s also RPI (Ratings Percentage Index), head-to-head, quality of wins, outcome with common opponents, conference tournament results and the win percentage for teams.

Notre Dame WBB | Driven To Succeed
The NCAA announced that women’s wrestling will be added as it’s 91st championship sports in 2026. Initially, all three Divisions will have wrestlers competing against one another. During the 23-24 season there were 76 women’s wrestling programs. Projections point to an additional 17 programs in 2024-25. More than 1,200 women wrestlers are currently competing. The latest NWCA Top 25 provides a picture of the schools that are competing.
The ACC Wrestling Championships will be held at Duke on March 9. The 2025 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships take place March 20-22 at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia
