ACC Wrestle Mania

ACC Wrestle Mania

Battle Of The Unbeaten

There has been an on-going struggle for dominance in the world of ACC wrestling over the years. This season has been no exception as NC State and Virginia Tech wrestle for the top spot in the conference.

The possibility of both teams remaining unbeaten in conference action until they meet on February 16 in Raleigh is high. It also holds the promise of delivering some potent ACC wrestle mania for fans.

Though the Pack is ranked higher in the most recent NWCA Top 25, the Hokies lead the ACC standings at 3-0. NC State is 2-0 and both teams are 13-1 overall. *Correction NC State also holds a 3-0 conference record. (Updated 02/07/18 12:25p)

Nothing about the remainder of this conference season suggests a cakewalk, though. North Carolina, Virginia and Duke all have a number of highly ranked wrestlers that want their shot, too. This teams could stand in the way.

NC State, Virginia Tech and North Carolina hold steady in this week’s team rankings. As we close in on the post season, the InterMat Top 20 individuals becomes very relevant.

ACC Wrestle Mania

For the most part, ACC teams wrap their regular season up by February 18. That provides sufficient time to recover from injuries and lay out strategies for the ACC Wrestling Championship competition in Chapel Hill, March 3.

This year’s NCAA Wrestling Championships will be in Cleveland, March 15-17.
