ACC Weather Updates

Officials in three state thus far have issued a State of Emergency due to Hurricane Michael. Authorities in Florida, Alabama and Georgia are getting ahead of the weather as much as possible with these declarations.

Hurricane Michael is currently a Category 2 storm. It is expected to become a Category 3 hurricane as it approaches landfall. Forecasters anticipate high winds (up to 110mph), torrential rain (as much as a foot) and dangerous coastal flooding. Storm surge with Michael may be as high as 12 feet above normal sea levels.

Florida authorities told residents and tourists in at least 20 counties along the Panhandle and Big Bend regions to evacuate. This includes the state capital, Tallahassee which is home to Florida State University.

The Seminoles football team is on a bye week. The majority of coaches and players will depart Tallahassee prior to the arrival of the storm.
