ACC Football Rankings Week 3 | Having Fun Yet?

ACC Football Rankings

It’s another year of topsy-turvy, wild and surprising Atlantic Coast Conference action and the ACC Football Rankings bear that out. So, we know not all of you are having fun but that doesn’t mean you won’t be as the season progresses. The new format of division less football makes it more of a wild-west scenario and the streets are full of action. Seriously. Who thought Boston College would have given Florida State such fits? And, what’s up with Duke and Syracuse making a run?

When we crunch our weekly numbers and look at the final numbers it’s nothing short of amazing how close (in our opinion) some of the teams in the ACC are to each other. Certainly, there’s a top-tier but the middle group of teams isn’t too far behind and the competition is stiff.

Will there be a repeat or completely different teams in this year’s championship tilt?

Some of the games that may influence who’s still standing in the last week of play include the NC State vs Virginia game slated for Friday night (if the rains hold off until after the game however the winds could still come into play). On Saturday, the Florida State and Clemson matchup that everyone has been talking about since the schedules were first released. Will it be the game we all hoped for or fall flat? Though Louisville fans may not want to hear this, Boston College has shown the ability to keep themselves in the game and if they can deliver again like they did against the Noles then it will be a challenge for the Cards.

Wake Forest certainly has a stronger offense but then again Georgia Tech has been creeping up in the first three weeks so the Yellow Jackets are one of those teams that can deliver an upset. Finally, North Carolina gets to prove that they’ve brought it all together and they have the goods against Pitt. The Panthers just can’t seem to find themselves and a loss will further deflate the confidence that fans have in Pat Narduzzi. Phil Jurkovec stands at the gateway to his future should he play like last week against West Virginia.
