Last week we talked about how the ACC was a veritable horse race and how some teams had to prove themselves in the ACC football rankings. We said it was time for the ‘Noles to ‘Show Me The Money’ as to whether they deserved the top spot or Clemson did. In case you missed it, we’re pretty sure that question was answered.
We questioned whether North Carolina could get out of their defensive funk and be a competitor on the main stage. Now it’s very clear that Drake Maye doesn’t have to carry the team on his shoulders as a one-man band. After their week 1 performance where will the Tar Heels be in the ACC Football Rankings?

Solid performances were delivered by Miami, Wake Forest, Louisville (and yes, Georgia Tech even in the loss), Pitt, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Florida State and Duke. NC State showed potential but a 10 point win over UConn is never going to set our heads to spinning. The Pack is notoriously a slow starting team (why?) so maybe it will all begin to click in a game or two. Virginia lost and who didn’t expect that but some areas of the team are beginning to shine. It takes time to build a good thing Wahoos! Be patient.

We wish it were easier to say, be patient to Eagles fans. Boston College losing to Northern Illinois in OT at home is a great way to dash the hopes and dreams of fans. In a lot of instances the comment, ‘there’s something going on there’ is used but we think it might be, ‘there’s nothing going on there’. That sens Boston College down in the ACC football rankings. We’re not big on putting a coach on the hot seat until at least week four. A word of caution Coach ‘Haf’, we see pitchforks on the horizon.

Clemson. Oh, my. We didn’t see the spark that is normally there. The Tigers performance against Duke was (shrugs shoulders), we’ll get back to you on that when someone figures it out. Let’s not discount the Blue Devils (Mike Elko, what a great hire) in this game because they were jacked and ready to play. As a fan, don’t overreact to this (win or loss). It was a solid win. It was a disappointing loss. Dabo’s a smart guy (except for the Transfer Portal) and he’ll figure it out.
