Swimming | Virginia, Cal Top ACC ’24 Rankings

ACC Swimming and Diving ends 2024 on a high note with Virginia women and Cal men on top.

One of the big reasons that Virginia’s women swimming and diving team is atop the CSCAA Top 25 has to do with a never-ending stream of world championship quality athletes gracing the doors. It’s no different this season as Virginia swimmers came away with 14 World Records and 10 titles at the World Championships. One of the lynch-pins of the team is Gretchen Walsh who came away with 11 of those records and 7 World Titles on her way to being named Best Female Swimmer.

One of the additions to the conference that has brought along a strong men’s and women’s team is Cal. The Golden Bears had solid showings by Jack Alexy picked up Gold in the 100 meter freestyle and by 25-26 recruit Claire Weinstein who contributed to the 4×200 freestyle Gold effort for Team USA. Both Alexy and Weinstein were 2024 Summer Olympians.
