The WNBA Draft was good to ACC players as teams pursued some of the dynamic talent on display from this season. The selection of the lucky 7 began with a first round, top 5 selection of Emily Engstler. The Cardinals’ forward won’t be far from the following she established at Louisville as she dons the uniform of the Indiana Fever. CBS Sports’ Jack Maloney graded the pick as an ‘A’ noting that Engstler brings some much needed defense to her new team.
The second round is where action picked up for conference players with five additional selections being made. Louisville, NC State, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech were all represented when the names of draftees were called from the podium.
