’26 ACC Wrestling Championship | Hokies Dominate

The Hokies locked up their second consecutive ACC Wrestling Championship in dominating fashion finishing with 106 points. The attendance for the event broke a record previously set by NC State in 2023 of 3,834 with 4,692 watching the matches at Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg. Virginia Tech placed 8 wrestlers in the finals and locked up 5 individual gold medals.

Stanford came in second with 84 points, third went to NC State with 57 points, North Carolina placed fourth with 53 points and fifth went to Pitt with 37 points. Virginia and Duke also competed in the championship.

Aaron Seidel earned Most Outstanding Wrestler honors and scored two dominant technical falls in claiming the 133 pound title. Teammate Eddie Ventresca won the 125 pound title for the second year and NC State’s Matty Singleton also repeated as ACC Champion in the 174 pound weight class.

Virginia Tech and NC State, the two most dominant teams in the conference the past few years continued that in the tournament winning 7 of 10 weight classes.

Jack Consiglio in the 141 weight class and Daniel Cardenas in the 157 both came away with championship honors for Stanford.

Bryce Hepner, representing North Carolina in the 165 pound action won honors for the Tar Heels.

There was no shortage of excitement as 4 of 10 matches required extra periods with tiebreakers deciding 125, 149 and 174. The 184 pound match delivered an exciting finish.

The NCAA Wrestling Committee will select 42 at-large qualifiers that will be announced on Tuesday, March 10. Brackets and seedings will be released on NCAA.com Wednesday, March 11 at 8pm ET.
